From the pre-article box period, there was two main procedures for providing a letter; senders might be necessitated to take their mail to some Receiving Dwelling, or would await the Bellman. The latter would patrol the streets, gathering write-up in the community. To be able to tell apart himself, and make his existence identified, the Bellman has
